Tops Learning Systems is a unique children's educational charity.

We create, develop and publish fun and hands-on activity lessons for children to learn science and math through processes of creative play and self-discovery.

Here is an example of our activity lessons. Children follow instructions and using local materials do science and math that are interesting, relevant and meaningful to them.

Children's involvement in hands-on activities, using materials they are farmiliar with take away the mysteries surrounding science and math while learning basic concepts in totally enjoyable ways.

Our mission is to excite and encourage more children and young people to develop the love for, and interest in science and mathematics very early in their lives.

Tops Learning Systems works in the United Kingdom and Ghana. We have offices in London and Accra. We work with children in primary schools, their teachers and after school programs to promote inquiry-based learning.

We help teachers with little science and math background to effectively present these subjects to children in interesting and playful ways, using simple materials children are familiar with.

Our History:
Tops Learning Systems is the brainchild of an American Peace Corps, Ron Marson who taught math and science to student teachers at Anloga, Ghana from 1967 to 1972.

Ron was ushered into an empty classroom with no equipment and little money to teach science and math. Just tables, chairs and students!

He improvised with local materials like paper clips, aluminium foil and others in the village to help students understand science and math which they can later teach to their pupils after graduation.

Ron used the experience gained from Ghana to establish a non-profit organisation in the USA developing innovative hands-on activities in science and math for children.

And he showed his language guide, Elisha how to disseminate this innovation through the formation of TOPS Learning Systems to serve both the developed and the developing world.
